of Brevard's prime location affords its visitors the opportunity
to hike, kayak, fish, canoe, and rock climb right in its backyard. Below
are just a sample of the area businesses and camps dedicated to helping
you make the most of your outdoor experience.

Backcountry Outdoors: A full service outdoor store located in Pisgah National Forest. Backcountry offers a wide array of apparel, bikes and accessories, and hiking gear. It also offers information on trails, events, area lodging, etc.
Brevard Rock Gym: An indoor climbing facility that provides a fun and safe atmosphere. The Brevard Rock Gym also offers birthday party services, guided outdoor climbing, and a "School of Rock Day Camp" for children ages 7-17.
Davidson River Outfitters: Dedicated to making the most out of your Fly Fishing experience. Davidson River Outfitters offers fly fishing classes with Masters' Champion Kevin Howell and instructor Lou Barlow. Fly Fishing Guides are also there to lead you to the best fly fishing spots in the area.
Earthshine
Mountain Lodge: A lodge that offers a rustic elegance
with great views of the surrounding mountainous areas.
While staying at Earthshine, guests are invited to mine for
gems, take part in a rope course, join the mountain dances,
become a pioneer or cherokee, and other exciting activities.
Earthshine Mountain Lodge also provides wedding and reunion

Fox Mountain Guides & Climbing School: Rock climbing and Ice climbing for individuals or groups. Fox Mountain Guides welcome everyone from beginners to the highly experienced. Fox Mountain Guides also offers Climbing Instructor Training and Certification, and is the only climbing school in the Southeast to be accredited by the American Mountain Guides Association.
Headwaters Outfitters: Specializing in canoeing, kayaking, and tubing trips on the French Broad River and throughout Western North Carolina. You can purchase new or used canoes and kayaks, and Headwaters Outfitters also provides seasonal special events
throughout the year.
Looking Glass
Outfitters: Sells outdoor equipment and clothing for
rock climbing, hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities.
Looking Glass Outfitters has a knowledgeable staff to provide
you with the best area trails, climbs and views.
Sycamore Cycles: A full service bicycle store that provides on and off-road bicycles, parts, service, accessories, and bicycle rentals. Sycamore Cycles website keeps bikers up to date on events, trails, cycling news, and riding spots.
