Having been licensed for twenty years between North Carolina and California, I have an extensive background in working with youth, adolescents and adults with a focus on the individual as well as family and the couple relationship. I am also certified as a mediator focusing on family, divorce, blended families.
I utilize an approach focused on developing positive coping skills, identifying strengths, developing internal balance, peace and mindfulness and learning effective communication skills/ relationship growth. It is essential to provide nonjudgmental, comforting confidential envoronment. I utilize a holistic approach focused on physical, spiritual, mental, emotional health, growth and well being.

Counseling Centers of Brevard was founded in 2002 by Kathleen Mallet, LPC, LCAS because she desired to provide quality substance abuse and mental health treatment in Transylvania County. Kathleen moved to NC in 1999 from Palm Beach County Florida, where she worked for 3 different agencies since receiving her Masters degree in Clinical Counseling in 1987 from Westfield State College in Massachusetts.

Dr. Ward specializes in Preventive Medicine. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine in Aerospace Medicine. After completing his residency training in 1992, Dr. Ward joined Wyle Laboratories (formerly Krug) as a physician supporting the design of Space Station medical facilities. In 1993 he worked as a Flight Surgeon at NASA Johnson Space Center in support of the Space Shuttle program. Later, he lived in Star City, Russia as a physician for the US/Russia Shuttle-Mir Programs until 1997.

I have lived in Brevard since 1986 and love it. In 1989 I married the love of my life and we live in town with 5 cats.
I am currently a nursing student and am on my way to becomeing a Family Nurse Practioner/ Licensed Massage Therapist.

Judith has been a licensed clinical social worker for forty-five years and currently provides mental health counseling services for adolescents and adults, including older persons, with a variety of problems. Clients have problems related to anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief, family issues, and life stage difficulties. Her focus is on helping people find the solutions for their problems in a practical, though psychologically informed and sound way. She is usually able to see a new client within two weeks and offers some appointments in the early evenings. She accepts most insurances, including Medicare and Medicaid.
